Winter Style Tip: Layering

Winter needn’t be about hiding behind large oversized sweaters or boring cardigans. Layering can be an interesting way to keep your winter look chic, fresh, and right on trend. Here are a few interesting ways in which you can use different pieces from your wardrobe to create interesting Winter ensembles.

Long sweaters work well for really chilly days. You could opt for a design that’s open at the front and accessorize with a belt or leave it open for a less structured look.

Tip: Always wear the heaviest layer on top and the lighest piece of clothing closest to your body.

Team bold prints with subtle colours and patterns. A scarf, shrug, or sweater in a bold print can tranform a simple pair of denims and a white t-shirt.

Tip: Make sure you wear only one piece of clothing wih bold prints on it, and keep the rest of your attire subtle and toned down.

Add a splash of colour to your winter wardrobe with sweaters or shrugs in bright colours. They can also be a great picker-upper on gloomy winter mornings!

Tip: You could also use accessories in bright colours- belts, bags, or scarves in reds, yellows, or bright blues for instance, while keeping the rest of your clothing muted.

Cropped jackets or shrugs accentuate the waist and are very, very chic. You could try structured jackets or shrugs that simply skim the body, for a more relaxed look.

Tip: An open shrug or jacket worn with a loose top underneath is a look that can be equally flattering.
